I heart Steve Jobs
By Matt Walker | May 8, 2008
Okay…not really. I’m not even sure that I like him. I’m hoping that he has many, many black faux-turtlenecks. Otherwise, he’s wearing the same clothes day after day. That’s just gross.
Actually, I just finished watching the video of Apple’s iPhone SDK roadmap announcement. They’ve done so many things right over the last few years that it’s starting to make me feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone. When I first started working in IT, Apple and Macintosh computers were like the overpriced Yugos of the computer world. Back then they were married to the RISC architecture, which in and of itself is not bad. I think it was everything around the chip that made it an unholy nightmare. I remember having to spend 3 hours one day trying to upgrade from 7.5.3 to 7.6 in order to get a certain peripheral working. It sucked the life right out of me.
However, recently, everything has been going much better. First was Apple’s decision to switch to a Unix-core operating system, OS X. Then, more recently, they switched to an Intel-based hardware architecture. Of course, all that goes without mentioning the iPods and iPhone, which brings me back to the iPhone SDK. It makes me want to get an iPhone, just so I can make it tell me how darn sexy I look.
If you’re interested, check out the video. It’s about 1 hour and 15 minutes long. Probably not for the faint-of-heart.

Dude, you just admitted to spending an hour and a half at work watching an iPhone video. Now, go get back to work doing “research” on YouTube or eBay or something.
It must suck to be a tech guy.
On the other hand, if this somehow gets me an iPhone, please, by all means, continue.

So, you say it wasn’t YouTube where you watched the clip, but Apple’s site. The fact still remains that you watched a 1.5 hour video at work. Job related? That’s debatable.
